Tiny Telephone was opened in September of 1997 to provide affordable hi-fi recording to San Francisco's independent music community. Inside you'll find a spacious live room, a game room/lounge (ok, it's only got a tv and a PS2) and, in our control room, the city's most comfortable couch. You'll also find a discrete Neve 5316 and a Studer 827, one of the finest 24-track recorders ever made. We're right in the Mission in a gated, private compound with easy parking. The studio is about 1700 sq. ft., with an isolation room, two rock-solid amp lockers, and a Bob Hodas-tuned control room. Since I am painfully addicted to buying audio gear, the following list will only improve. Go to our FAQ to get detailed information about rates, directions and deposit info.
Magik*Magik Orchestra is the official house orchestra of Tiny Telephone. M*MO is a modular group of symphonic players that can ordered up as needed, from a single bass clarinet, to an 60-piece ensemble
Rates: Tiny Telephone is $350 a day, engineers are (usually) $200 a day. More
New gear: HD IS COMING! With Apogee Rosetta converters. We've added headphone and mic tie lines in the front lounge. Also: Josephson 700A, 2 617, 2 E22s, 2 42 matched small diaphragm mics. Lexicon PCM90. Sand bags!!
News: Death Cab For Cutie has the #1 record in the US this week. Amazing. Some bands in and out recently: From Monument To Masses, Dredg, Love Like Fire, Carla Kilstedt and Matthias Bossi, and Deerhoof.
